Road Officers
The Huntington County Sheriff's Department has 14 full time officers, which includes 2 Detectives and a Matron. These dedicated Officers put their lives on the line to protect the lives and property of the people of Huntington County.

K-9 Unit
Booker
Huntington County added a new K-9 unit to the force in mid 1999. Officer Chris Newton and his dog Booker are trained in Drug Detection, Tracking, and Defense Tactics. Besides his regular duties, Officer Newton is on call anytime K-9 assistance is needed by County or City Police.

They also assist the Towns of Warren, Roanke, Andrews, Markle, and occasionally Neighboring Counties when requested. It takes a lot of dedication to be a good K-9 team, there are many hours of training and upkeep of equipment.

Reserve Officers
Huntington County Reserve Officers assist full time officers in regular patrols and on special events. The reserve program is made up of Volunteers that have an interest in Law Enforcement and have taken the time to go through all of the training necessary to become an officer.
